Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today, I would like to encourage you to trust in God’s timing.
If you are anything like me, there have probably been times when you have prayed for something over and over again, wondering if God was listening.
Perhaps you prayed for healing.
Perhaps you prayed for someone you love.
Perhaps you prayed for guidance and clarity.
When our prayers seem to go unanswered, it is easy to become discouraged. We begin to wonder if God has forgotten us. Remember the promise God made to Moses, “he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Meaning God will never abandon you nor will He desert you in times of need. God made this promise to Moses in the Old Testament, how much more true are the words of Christ, who is the fulfillment of the Old Testament when He says, “I am with you always until the end of time.”
Our loving Father sees the whole picture, while we can only see one small part of it. He knows what is best for us, and He knows exactly when to answer our prayers.
Sometimes His answer is “yes”
Sometimes His answer is “no”
And sometimes His answer is “not yet”
That “not yet” can be the hardest answer to accept. Yet it is often during those times of waiting that God is preparing our hearts, strengthening our faith, and teaching us to trust Him more deeply.
Remember, God is never late. His timing is always perfect, even when we cannot understand it. If you are waiting for an answer to prayer today, do not give up. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep placing your hope in the Lord.
Perhaps today, simply pray:
“Jesus, I trust in Your timing. Help me to wait with faith and patience. Your will be done. not mine.”
Our loving Father has not forgotten you. He is already at work, even when you cannot yet see what He is doing.
Allow me to share a personal story with you. I do so only because I think it will bring this encouragement into perspective:
In Fatima, the Blessed Mother came to me one afternoon as I was praying the Rosary, after the third decade. She was beautiful, as nothing I had ever seen before. In Her right hand, She was holding a heart. Extending Her arm with the heart, She said, “Always adore My Son.” The last day we were in Fatima, I wanted to spend a few hours in Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Again, as I was praying the Rosary in my wheelchair, I saw a bright image of Our Lady. I told my mom that I wanted to kneel before the Blessed Sacrament. Not knowing if I could kneel or not, I put my left hand on the pew, and my right knee just fell to the ground with no pain. I went back to my chair to continue my prayers as my mom and friend left me for a few hours. I closed my eyes in prayer, and like a strip of film, I saw myself walking with Our Blessed Mother in the last procession. I didn’t walk for myself, nor because I wanted to; I walked with Her. I walked out of love, and I will walk with Jesus wherever He leads me. I came to Fatima asking for healing, came to seek healing, came to knock for healing. I believed, had faith, trusting in God for my healing because He said, “Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it.” Did I go from Fatima saying, “Father, why have You forsaken me?” Yes. But did He? No. I may not have gotten what I asked for or what I wanted, but I did get what I needed: “Always adore My Son.” Thus, I don’t pray for healing; instead, I pray to become an instrument of peace and reconciliation in the hands of Our Mother and Our Lord Jesus Christ.
